Well, it's a new(ish) year and it's time to post again. I suppose it was time to post a while ago... In the last year I've been doing a lot of working and a bit of having fun.
Last April, Julie and I went to Kentucky and met up with Liz and Eric at Mammoth Caves. We had a great long weekend and spent lots of time walking through some of the biggest and longest caves in the world.
In August, we made it home to Boise for the Kesler family reunion. We spent most of our time in Cascade and enjoyed ourselves at the lake. Both of us came home with some pretty nasty sunburns but we had a great time.
Christmas included about a week and a half in Boise with our families. We've decided that we don't see enough of them...
Since then, it's been back to work. I have resolved to lose some major weight this year and have been starting and failing a number of different exercise plans and things. I think I've come up with a good solution. That solution is a blog. I'm going to be starting another blog in which I will be making weekly (at least) updates on my progress including results as well as the actions I'm taking. I think this will help keep me on track. You'll be able to find more on that on the blog. I'll post a link to it once I get it up and running.
That's really it for now.

Up to Date?
So it appears I've been failing on keeping anyone up to date with this blog. Well, here's my attempt.
Since my last post, I went back to BYU and then took another internship with Celanese last summer. That internship was located in the small town of Narrows, VA. Just before leaving on that internship I got married to my wonderful wife, the former Julie Egbert. She went with me to Virginia for the summer and we loved it there. We made many great friends and spent some time with old ones. My friend James, with whom I worked in Texas, took a job at the plant in Narrows so we were both there once again.
After that internship, we moved back to Utah so I could finish up school. I worked hard, interviewed with a few companies, and then accepted a position with Celanese back at the plant in Narrows, VA. I graduated with my bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from BYU in December 2010 and just started my new position at Celanese in January 2011. Julie and I bought a house in a smaller town called Ripplemead just 10 minutes or less from where I work. We're in the process of getting settled in and we're enjoying the area, the people and I am enjoying my job.
I think that's good for now. We'll see how well I keep this up to date from here on out.

Texas
So, it appears I've been failing at keeping this up-to-date. At least I had good intentions. Well, I guess I'll give ya the scoop on my life these days.
In May I moved to Dallas, TX for the summer where I'm working for Celanese. We make all sorts of chemicals that are used in all sorts of consumer products. I work in the acetyls marketing group and do all sorts of fun stuff. So I'm living in an apartment not far from work with three other interns from other universities.
Last weekend I helped out on a Habitat for Humanity project where I spent most of the day putting up trusses on the top of the house. It was a very rewarding project and I learned a lot about how that is done. Before ya know it I'll be able to build my own house with all the experience I've acquired over lots of smaller projects. Anyway, It was extrememly how outside (even for Texas) so they had us drinking lots of Gatorade and water. The second half of the day I got to work with Greg, the head recruiter for BYU and that was a lot of fun.
It's been nice working for this company. It's a great job and it's giving me good experience in the chemical industry, particularly on the business side of the industry. My office is next door to another BYU intern who is a year ahead of me in school and we've become pretty good friends.
I have to say this has been a really positive experience and hopefully I'll keep this updated a little better than I have been.
